Track your prescribed recovery
Many sports injuries require a weight-bearing protocol, which is a structured plan to gradually reintroduce weight on the injured area as part of the rehabilitation process. These protocols are crucial for safe healing and regaining function. Common injuries that typically require a weight-bearing protocol include:

-
Fractures (especially in the lower extremities)
-
Tibia, fibula, femur, foot, and ankle fractures (e.g., stress fractures, Jones fractures).
-
-
Ligament injuries
-
ACL, MCL, or PCL tears (knee)
-
-
Ankle sprains (moderate to severe)
-
Initial rest followed by gradual loading to promote ligament remodeling.
-
-
Post-surgical recovery
-
Meniscus repair, cartilage surgery (e.g., microfracture, ACI), or joint replacement.
-
-
Tendon injuries
-
Achilles tendon ruptures (surgical or conservative treatment)
-
-
Joint dislocations or subluxations
-
Especially hip, knee, or ankle, after reduction and immobilization.
-
-
Post-casting or immobilization atrophy
-
Even in cases without fracture, after long immobilization, reintroducing weight-bearing must be gradual.
-
Customize Your Recovery
This prescribed protocol is individualized based your specific injury, and would be managed by your healthcare team.
As an athlete, the period immediately after an injury is crucial for a proper recovery.

The chart below outlines a typical weight-bearing progression timeline for tendon injuries, particularly Achilles tendon and patellar tendon injuries, which are common in sports.
The exact timing may vary based on surgical vs. non-surgical management, the athlete's healing response, and the protocols of their healthcare team.

What is the CastOff System?
Our solution is simple! The CastOff system is based on a sensor-based insole fitted in the patient’s shoe or walking boot. The information is gathered by the "Pod" attached to the patient's ankle.

The clinician, or caregiver will create a patient profile to set up the weight bearing protocol.
Once the set up is complete, the Pod will alert, through sounds and vibrations when the patient has exceeded their prescribed weight limit.
The patient’s smartphone alerts & tracks recovery and provides a visual display of progress
